This afternoon I managed the stage for some tiny musicians. You know the drill — move the music stand out, take the music stand away, lift the piano lid to full stick, put the piano lid down, put the piano music rack up, put the piano music rack down, as required, then clap backstage just out of view as each child walks onstage to cue the audience that clapping is happening now. 

Afterward, at the reception where congratulations were being handed out all round, I was just trying to sneak a cookie or two when the ancient grandfather of one of our little people came up to me to tell me what a good job I'd done. 

"You, too. Nice work. [*sidles up close*] I liked watching you. [*wink*] You always here? You a regular? [*checks name tag*] Good. I'll see you again, then. We'll be back. I'll be lookin' out for you."

I don't know. I think he might have been flirting with me.
